Trinity United Church has its roots in this area back to the 1850's in Methodism and Presbyterianism, as well as the Bible Christian Church in the 1870's. The Bible Christian Church united with the Methodist Church in 1884. In 1925, the Methodist Church, along with approximately half of the Presbyterian congregation, united to form the United Church of Canada.

The present church building was constructed in 1894 with various renovations and expansions through the years. The Casavant organ was installed in 1909. In 2002 a complete renovation and expansion of the organ was completed..
